Google has begun rolling out its new pitch-black dark mode . As per The Verge, the previous dark mode was a grey that was soothing on the eyes, but Google Switched to a true black that should really pop on OLED and AMOLED displays.  Google announced the wider availability of dark mode earlier this month, but thus far, the release has been slow. Few people seem to have it, and as per reports, some users have received the new theme only to lose it.  The new display could be a win for those who thought the dark grey wasn't dark enough. But it could also be a win for those who want to save some battery life on devices with OLED displays .

Instagram on Tuesday said that it has changed it's daily time limit option to avoid sending people multiple notifications at the same time. The update comes after media reported that the platform has quitely removed the ability for mobile users to set a lower daily time limit reminder than 30 minutes.  The daily time limit setting pops up a notification to the user once theri app activity his their preferred limit, reminding them to be conscious of how much time they are spending on the app, Meanwhile, " Take a Break"  is a feature that shows up for people scrolling for a certain amount of time.  In this feature, users are asked to take a break from Instagram and suggest that they set reminders to take more breaks in the future.

WhatsApp is working on a new interface for voice calling for some beta Android Users . WhatsApp development tracker WABetainfo said voice calling would have a new interface when placing calls.  References for the design change were already found in previous beta updates for iOS and Android users. The new voice call interface would come with a round grey square in the front and centre .  It will also house the contace name, number, and profile picutre . WhatsApp is planning to bring real-time voice wave forms to calls as well. This will allow the callers to figure out who exactly is taking.

Apple is remoured to be planning a new version of 27 inch iMac powered by M1 Pro and M1 Max chips . According to off-accurate display industry consultant Ross Young , a redesigned iMac Pro with a mini-LED Promotion display could launch in JUNE.  Earlier, there were reports that the product could go official sometime in summer this year. The 27 inch Mini LED display could have support for a 120 HZ refresh rate . It is said that device will feature a design similar to 24 inch iMac which is powered by an M1 chipset .  It is expected to come powered by recently announced M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets from Apple.

Google announced a multi-year initiative to build a Privacy Sandbox on Android , with the goal of introducing new advertising solutions and improve user privacy without putting access to free content and services at risk.  The firm said these advertising solutions will limit sharing of user data with third parties and operate without cross app identifiers, including advertising ID. We are also exploring technologies that reduce the potential for covert data collection. Including safer ways for apps to integrate with advertising SDKs (Software Development Kit) , said Anthony Chavez VP, Product Management. Android Security and Privacy. Google had developed advertising ID to give users more control and last year.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch is latest M2 Apple silicon processor in refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro model nex month .  The 13-inch MacBook pro will feature the same design as the current version, including the Touch Bar and will not have a notch or a ProMotion display, reports MacRumors.  The new entry level MacBook pro model will be the New M2 chip, which features the same number of CPU cores as the M1 processor and up to 10 graphics cores.

With almost 50% customers from non-metro cities, the number of requests to Alexa in 2021 increased by 68% since the previous year, Amazon India said on Tuesday .  The company said that Alex has entertained customers by playing more than 21.6 lakh songs every day, genre such as kids , devotional and regional language were extremely prominent in the top 20 songs. As the Alexa smart home selection increased by 72% year-over year (YOY) , Alexa responded to over 2.6 lakh requests for controlling smart phone appliances every day.

Instagram has announced a new feature called "Private Story Likes" that will change how users interact with other people's Stories. Users who receive updated will be able to like someone's Stories without sending a DM .  This was announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri on Twitter, say 9To5Mac. While currently any interactions through Instagram Stories are sent by direct messages to the uses's inbox, the new like system will work independently.  New interface will show a heart icon when you are viewing Stories in the app, the report said.

WhatsApp is reportedly planning to add Facebook like cover image . The feature has recently been spotted by WhatsApp development tracker WABeatainfo.  According to the screenshot shared by the WABetainfo , WhatsApp is planning to introduce a camera button in users's Business settings.  In this, users can select a photo or take a new one to use as a cover photo. Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working towards releasing the Community feature in a future update.

Google has confirmed that Android 12's Material You Dynamic colour theming system will soon arrive on other Android phones. Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Oneplus, Vivo, Realme and Tecno phones will get the new options soon but no concrete timeline was provided. As more Android 12 devices land in next couple of months, our OEM partners are working with us to ensure that key design APIs, especially around dynamic colour, work consistently across the Android eco system, Rohan Shah, a product manager on Android, said in a blog.  The Colour change is visible across the OS.
